Public art Education is now developing in full swing in China’s colleges and universities,owing to deep concern from the Ministry of Eduction and the universities concerned.However,great stress and challenges do arise during the course of arts teaching.The result is far from satisfaction despite much efforts from teachers and students.This paper is intended to investigate the issue through experiment in micro and specific class.With the case of appreciation class of Da·Vinci’s “Last Supper”, heterogeneous forms for the same subject are adopted for sophomore students of science and technology,and the author acts as the research tool through curriculum design and teaching presentation.The action research is conducted in real context of teaching practice and observation.Interviews and questionaires,together with class memoir,are used to evaluate the effectiveness of the teaching procedures and effects, which may help provide further exploration into public arts eduction in colleges in general.The thesis is composed of three chapters.Chapter One begins with general introduction.Chapter Two covers the related theories,curriculum design and class memoir,which is the base of the research.Chapter Three covers the exploration into and illumination about the effectiveness of teaching through analysis of interviews, questionaires,and class memoir.The study of effectiveness through micro classroom teaching tends to find out models and tendency in public arts eduction in colleges in general.The author makes his points in this part to express defferent thinking and understandings about public arts eduction.The last part is appendix for reference, which includes some fragments in the experiment.
